Heart 2 Heart Women’s Ministries is a passionate group of women desirous to glorify Jesus Christ through living as Godly Christian examples in all facets of life. We are committed to loving any and all women we encounter as Jesus would love them. Whether we are praying, enjoying a retreat together, or studying God’s word, you can be sure Christ is at the center!

Women’s Ministries Focus

There is the saying that, “We often go to the altar and drop our burdens, but when we turn to leave, we pick our burdens back up and continue to carry them.” We forget that God is not only able, but He wants us to give our burdens to Him. Just like our burdens, we too often forget that God has the power to transform our lives from who we were, to who He created us to be. As a new creation in Christ, we get a whole, brand new, clean canvas on which to paint a brand new picture. Because we are human with fleshly tendencies, we should thank God because His mercies are new every morning, and each day we get to begin again. No matter what we have done, Romans 8:1 tells us that, “There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.” Psalm 103:12 tells us that, “As far as the east is from the west, He has removed our transgressions from us.” Micah 7:18-19 reminds us, “There is no other like our God, who pardons our sins, forgives our transgressions, does not stay angry but delights to show us mercy, has compassion on us, and most importantly will tread our sins underfoot and hurls all of our iniquities into the depths of the sea.” God does not see the old us. Nor is He holding our past against us. He has forgiven and forgotten; so should we! Through His leading, we are able to be who God created us to be, free and alive in Christ.

Women’s Candlelight Dinner 2018

The Women’s Ministry Team is currently composed of Tamara Cline, Carrie Ostigaard, Kathy Willingham, and Wanda Alegria. Tamara became Ministry Leader in October of 2018, and Tammy Higgins left the team due to an unrelated matter. Nancy Taylor was added to the team in November 2018.

The Women’s Ministry continued to teach the women of Journey Church how to study the Word, seek His presence, pray for and connect with one another. We did this through our annual retreat and monthly Connection Times, finishing out the year with studying Priscilla Shirer’s  “Discerning the Voice of God”.  The retreat was held in April at the YMCA of the Rockies, was a powerful time for all who attended, including two women who gave their life to the Lord! Odessa baptized them right there in the YMCA’s pool and we all celebrated!

In December, we hosted the annual Candlelight Dinner, a tradition in this community. We were able to share the story of Jesus’ birth to the 120-plus people in attendance, as well as serve them. Without the support and help of the Men’s Ministry, this event would not be nearly as beautiful and successful as it is.

Tamara and the team prayed and discussed the direction we would take in 2019 and established these goals:

➢ Teach the women of Journey Church how to study the Word and seek His presence.

      • We will do this through weekly Bible Studies.

➢  Encourage the women of Journey to take a serious look at their own walk with the Lord and how they can best demonstrate Christlikeness in their spheres of influence.

      • We will do this through monthly Connection Time meetings.

➢  Give the congregation more opportunities to meet together as a church family.

➢  Demonstrate what it means to be a helpmate.

➢  Continually encourage one another through prayer and reaching out.

➢  Begin participating in more District events, such as the annual Conference put on by Rocky Mountain Women’s Ministries in the fall.

      • We will do this by hosting our own one-day conference every other Spring, with particular focus on group attendance to the RMWM October Conference that same year. The following year will feature a 3-day Retreat of our own, with invitations and awareness of opportunity to participate in District events made known to the congregation.

We look forward to serving the ladies of Journey Church, with an aim toward serving our entire congregation as well as the community in 2019.
